I would not go back to Nealey if it was the last auto repair facility in the state. They were much, much more expensive than four other facilities that I checked. I felt that they misrepresented their fees to me, and I ended up paying $130 for "diagnostics" when they did nothing except tell me exactly what I told them was wrong with my vehicle in the first place. Beware!
Leigh, we are sorry to hear you were unhappy with your most recent experience with us. I left you a message, and if you would like to discuss in further detail, I'd be happy to talk. You visited us due to your check engine light being illuminated. We had verbal authorization from you to perform tests and evaluate the area of concern for your check engine light which was for a code P0520 - Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Circuit. Our ASE Certified Master Technician performed an overall safety inspection of the vehicle and also evaluated the circuit related to the check engine light malfunction. We needed to confirm that we had proper integrity with the circuit/wiring related to this sensor to properly diagnose the issue. There is always a chance that this particular code could have been caused by a broken wire, short in the circuit, blown fuse, etc. After confirming that the circuit was intact, we concluded that the oil pressure sensor was at fault and it was recommended that it be replaced. We would never replace a part by reading what the check engine light code is reporting, that would be reckless. The code is just a symptom to an issue and should be treated as such. We needed to properly inspect the system to understand its root cause. We would be doing you a disservice if we did not. A surgeon would never perform surgery unless they knew why they were performing their work. We take pride in fixing vehicles correctly the first time and stand behind our work by employing ASE certified technicians, offering a 3 year/36,000 mile parts and labor Nationwide warranty. We apologize that you did not see the value in the services that we provided for you on your first visit and wish you nothing but the best in getting your vehicle repaired. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly if you would like to discuss further. All the best! - AJ Nealey
