AJ Nealey first acquired the mechanical bug while in high school. Once he earned his driver’s license, he wanted to know just how cars ticked. A nerd by heart, AJ spent hours upon hours reading books to educate himself on anything and everything from combustible engines to suspension design. He applied what he learned on his own vehicle and soon performed everything from rebuilding his own engine to replacing various suspension components. It was a true passion of his.
After graduating high school, AJ was fortunate enough to land a job in the trade! For many years, he worked at an independent Honda repair shop called Hondamans Auto Service in Pasadena, Maryland. There, he was immersed in hands-on learning that allowed him to perfect his skills. The learning curve was steep, but before he knew it, he was wrenching on customers' cars. Over the years, he spent time performing anything from timing belt services and engine replacements to diagnosing and repairing electrical "gremlins".
Long story short, with all the real-world experience gained--including how to efficiently and effectively communicate with customers--AJ was ready to go on his own.
And... Nealey Tire & Auto was formed!
